 riday 5th June at Ngawha Innovation & Enterprise Park in Kaikohe and the F
 ield Day will follow on Saturday 6th June\, hosted onsite at Simons New Ze
 aland Coffee near Doubtless Bay. This year's theme is 'Seed to cup on a Hi
 gh Cost Economy' - exploring how New Zealand can compete with other tradit
 ional growing areas around the world where the cost of labour and many oth
 er inputs are much lower than ours. DAY 1: Ngawha Innovation & Enterprise 
 Park We're very excited to be joined by our key note speaker\, Kraig Lee\,
  co-owner of Kona Farm Direct based in Hawaii. Kona Farm Direct is a famil
 y owned business and is multi-award winning in the specialty coffee market
 . With over 3 decades of experience building a successful business in a si
 milar high-wage\, high-cost economy to New Zealand\, Kraig will share some
  of their journey to date\, the key challenges to overcome\, the benefits 
 of working with others\, and how he sees the New Zealand industry developi
 ng. The Annual Conference will also keep building on knowledge and capabil
 ity with an update on the Northland crop trials\, a deep dive into agronom
 y with experienced horticulturalist Colin Partridge\, and a discussion abo
 ut biosecurity\, maintaining our pest-free status and the importance of bi
 osecurity for a robust and profitable industry. Day 2: Simons New Zealand 
 Coffee The Field Day will be held at the home of Simons New Zealand Coffee
  just north of Doubtless Bay\, and hosted by owner Doug Simons. This infor
 mal on-farm experience will take in the plantation of approximately 4500 c
 offee plants\, including some diversification with tamarillos\, avocados a
 nd passionfruit. Simons New Zealand Coffee includes space and equipment fo
 r drying and processing\, as well as roasting facilities\, and their mobil
