NZCPA 2026 Annual Conference & Field Day - VIP ACCESS
Seed to Cup in a High Cost Economy
Join us for the 2026 Annual Conference & Field Day
Held over 1 .5 days, the 2026 Annual Conference will take place on Friday 5th June at Ngawha Innovation & Enterprise Park in Kaikohe and the Field Day will follow on Saturday 6th June, hosted onsite at Simons New Zealand Coffee near Doubtless Bay.
This year's theme is 'Seed to cup on a High Cost Economy' - exploring how New Zealand can compete with other traditional growing areas around the world where the cost of labour and many other inputs are much lower than ours.
DAY 1: Ngawha Innovation & Enterprise Park
We're very excited to be joined by our key note speaker, Kraig Lee, co-owner of Kona Farm Direct based in Hawaii. Kona Farm Direct is a family owned business and is multi-award winning in the specialty coffee market. With over 3 decades of experience building a successful business in a similar high-wage, high-cost economy to New Zealand, Kraig will share some of their journey to date, the key challenges to overcome, the benefits of working with others, and how he sees the New Zealand industry developing.
The Annual Conference will also keep building on knowledge and capability with an update on the Northland crop trials, a deep dive into agronomy with experienced horticulturalist Colin Partridge, and a discussion about biosecurity, maintaining our pest-free status and the importance of biosecurity for a robust and profitable industry.
Day 2: Simons New Zealand Coffee
The Field Day will be held at the home of Simons New Zealand Coffee just north of Doubtless Bay, and hosted by owner Doug Simons. This informal on-farm experience will take in the plantation of approximately 4500 coffee plants, including some diversification with tamarillos, avocados and passionfruit.
Simons New Zealand Coffee includes space and equipment for drying and processing, as well as roasting facilities, and their mobile coffee caravan. This will be an excellent opportunity to see an established coffee farm, learn about Doug's experience, and understand more about the choices of value chain ownership.
This will be an engaging and informative programme with plenty of opportunity for networking and open discussion.
Capacity is limited and registration is necessary to secure your attendance on either day, we recommend early registration to avoid disappointment. Click the REGISTER button at the top right, choose either date and then click NEXT to see all ticket options.
